I have disembarked from Cannes to an undisclosed location (well, it's disclosed to me, but...oh, you know), where I'm going to...not watch any movies for a bit, for one thing. But I will be weighing in on the fest awards as they're announced (both the first-feature Camera d"Or and Directors' Fortnight prize have has gone to Corbijn's Control, good call; it is also eligible for the first-feature Camera d"Or), at which point I will do as much analysis as my exhausted brain (see parens—although the Camera d'Or has yet to be announced, the pic won other outside-the-official-fest prizes, the International Confederation of Arts Cinema Art & Essai prize for best film, the "Regards Jeunes" Prize awarded to the best first or second feature film and the Europa Cinemas Label prize for best European film in the sidebar) will allow. Are you sure the Camera D'Or went to Control? Camera D'Or isn't announced until Sunday night's award ceremony and buzz has it going to The Band's Visit. Are your sources certain?
