More 'No Country' Matters: Motel Shots, or, Gimme Some Chigurh

I can't tell you how gratifying it's been to watch the discussion of No Country For Old Men progress at this blog. It's gotten into some areas I never would have anticipated, but I'm also blown away by the consistent good nature and smarts of all the comments and commenter. It makes me feel, well, blessed—particularly when I look at the comments on other blogs which I'm not going to name here. So thanks. But on to the real stuff—the conversation below has brought up a point which wasn't as thoroughly addressed as it might have been, which we're going to get into below the fold.
